I have recently informed the dasl board that I have been offered, and have accepted, a new job and shortly will be leaving dasl.
I will be moving onto a regional role with Teenage Cancer Trust.
I wish to thank dasl for the opportunity to lead the organisation for the last two years. I have learnt so much in this time, and more widely over the six-and- a-half years I have worked with you all. I am excited to take this into my new role.
It has been my absolute pleasure to work at dasl and see the positive impact we have on the local community here in Lambeth. With the development of our volunteer-led services, the creation of a brand new employment support service and increased co-production, I can see how much the organisation has grown and developed in recent years. We have also been working to improve our internal systems and processes to make us as effective as possible.
There is more to be done, and the work we did together as part of our strategic planning to consider the needs and challenges for Disabled people means there’s so much potential for the organisation to shape local decisions and policy, and to provide increased opportunities for people to work with us.
Having spent time over the last year reflecting on our experience and now that restrictions are beginning to ease and we can start to think about how we want to work in the future, it feels like the right time for a new Director to take dasl forward.
We have started recruiting for the role. I will be able to support the board to interview stage in early July and hope to be able to announce the outcome of the interview before I leave.

In the meantime, I’ll be working with the board and Senior Management Team to plan a transition period to ensure that any disruption to the organisation and our work is kept to a minimum.
Thank you for being dasl members and making such a vital contribution to our work. It’s been a pleasure to get to know many of you personally while I have worked at dasl. I have no doubt that with your continued energy and commitment to the organisation, dasl will continue to thrive.
