We are thrilled to be able to welcome our first Intosport and Social Coordinator to the team here at dasl.

We know that Covid-19 has increased social isolation for Disabled people in the borough and how many people have appreciated and benefited from our inclusive sports activities provided in the first lockdown.

As a result of successful funding applications made to Covid response funds we have been able to recruit for two new Intosport and Social Coordinators who will be leading on a progamme of activities to boost wellbeing, reduce isolation and keep the community connected as we enter lockdown 2.0.

Will Atkinson joined us in his new role at the end of October. Here's a little more about him in his own words:

"I am very excited to continue my journey with dasl as their Intosport and Social Coordinator. I have had the privilege of volunteering for dasl for nearly two years and during lockdown lead the ‘Let’s Move with Will’ session every week for our members. I want to continue to work with this amazing community that dasl and its members have created. My passion for sports stemmed from a young age with football and tennis being my personal favourites.  I have continued to learn and better understand how physical activity can benefit everyone. I came to London to train as a dancer and from there I have gone on to perform in London and around the UK.  Through my time with dasl I have seen the immeasurable benefits the Intosport and social programmes have brought. I will be bringing plenty of my energy and commitment to the organisation to help sustain and develop new activities, working with our members to achieve this."
